Common questions

How do I install asambl?
Once you have beta access, you will receive a download link by email. asambl is a desktop app for macOS and Windows. Install it like any other app and the setup wizard will walk you through getting started.
Where is my data stored?
Your vault lives on your computer as markdown, JSON, and CSV you can open in any editor. asambl doesn’t upload your vault. When AI is on, only your question for that request goes to asambl’s managed AI (hosted by Microsoft on Azure), and it isn’t stored long-term.
Can I use asambl without AI?
AI is optional and can be switched off at any time. With AI off, automated weekly planning pauses, but you can still capture and store everything, browse your vault, and use your calendar. Turn AI back on whenever you want a drafted plan.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email us at support@asambl.app with a description of what happened (or what you would like to see). Screenshots and steps to reproduce are always helpful.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, a Companion runs on your phone now at calendar.asambl.app. Sign in with the Google account asambl uses on your laptop to see today's calendar, capture notes, and log workouts on the go. It links to your desktop and is end-to-end encrypted. There's nothing to install. It runs right in your phone's browser.
